History
Tumalo Creek started as a 2-man operation, specializing in temperature controlled freight, so we definitely understand deadlines. We have since expanded to almost every mode of transport available. Wherever you need it, we’ll get it there on time.
Over the past decade, we have worked hard to earn our solid reputation, focusing on integrity and dependability. We did it by surrounding ourselves with experienced transportation professionals who have in excess of 150 years in the logistics industry. Logistics Specialist
Job Summary
Our logistics specialist position is at the core of what we do. This role carries many different responsibilities from day to day operations and customer service to helping to support new facets of business. If you are a self-motivated, detail-oriented person that is comfortable and effective on the phone this position may be a good fit. You must be able to operate as part of a fast-moving team, yet the ability to make informed decisions quickly and independently without direct instruction is critical. We
are looking for a customer service and sales driven person with the ability to help execute in house business and successfully solve problems that arise throughout the day.
Responsibilities and Duties
Maintaining contact with customers, carriers and shippers on a daily basis
Scheduling pickups and deliveries
Booking shipments with logistics companies
Trying to achieve the best possible margin through negotiations with carriers
Working with shippers and carriers to resolve issues on behalf of our clients
Creating orders in our system and tracking and tracing shipments
Various other office duties
Qualifications and Skills
Must be able to handle a number of different duties simultaneously
Can stay organized and work well under stress
Phone experience and basic computer skills
Ability to make intelligent decisions on the fly and under pressure
Strong customers service and communication skills
Must be available for periodic night and or weekend issues via email and occasional phone

Carrier Development Manager
Job Summary
Our carrier development position is of critical importance to our company’s success. As a carrier representative you will be responsible for creating, maintaining and growing relationships with the carriers we rely on to execute our business. You will be in constant communication with our core carriers, and continuously seek out new partners we can work with.
Responsibilities and Duties
Seek out and make connections with new carriers we’re not doing business with
Develop, maintain and expand relationships with carriers in our system we want to work with more closely
Maintain daily and weekly contact with our core carriers to make sure we are meeting their expectations
Identify areas of additional opportunity with our clients and match that up with carrier capacity either in our system or out in the marketplace
Work with our brokerage and customer representative team to identify areas of needed capacity and source carriers to fit those need
Communicate with carriers about industry and market trends to better understand pricing and capacity opportunities and constraints
Qualifications and Skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to self-direct but also comfort in working closely with our brokerage and customer groups
Comfort on the phone and the ability to develop strong, meaningful relationships
Ability to multi task and prioritize a variety of different needs simultaneously
Must be motivated, engaged and driven to accomplish a variety of complex goals
Strong attention to detail and computer skills
